Ski Shack Boat Dock

Kimberling City, MO, June 29, 2012 — At 06:57am, 372 Nautical Circle at Port of Kimberling Marina in Kimberling City, a commercial dock fire. Crews were dispatched to the report of heavy fire and smoke from the Ski Shack.

First engine arrived at 07:06am and set up defensive operations protecting the adjacent boat docks. The adjacent docks sustained minor damage. Crews had the fire knocked down within 20 minutes. It took nearly 2 hours to extinguish all the smoldering plastics. Fire Marshal Mike Creswell is suspecting the cause to be electrical.

The building had an overhead storage area with a refrigerator, microwave and exhaust fan. This was the area of origin. Suspicion has been ruled out. The Ski Shack owner plans to have the damaged area removed and the rest of the dock open for business this weekend. All other docks and businesses are open and operating as usual. No injuries
